It's inevitable, Something goes wonky. Or maybe you just want to know a little more about the GasBox. Either way, you need answers.
The main users of the GasBox are the Matyi's and Whittakers, who have direct access to the site's creators and manager – the Matyi "kid brother" Christian. For anything not covered in the FAQ's below, he's the one to contact.
If you forgot the family password just get in touch with Christian and he'll remind you.
That is, he will help you so long as you're part of the Matyi or Whittaker clan. If you're not in the family, well, you don't get access. Sorry!
There is a small time-game between when you submit a recipe and when you can see it on the "See Recipes" section of the GasBox. Just wait a few minutes, refresh your browser, and try again.
Why the lag time? This is a small, family-sized operation, so to save money there had to be some corners cut here and there. One of those limitations is the speed at which things get updated.
If you waited a few minutes and still nothing, try entering the recipe again. If the problem still persists, get in touch with Christian.
There is a small time-game between when you submit a recipe and when you can see it on the "See Recipes" section of the GasBox. For photos, it's even longer. They need to be processed, and so sometimes it takes a while for the photos to show up. Don't panic; just come back later.
If you come back later and there's still no sign of the photos you uploaded, get in touch with Christian.

The GasBox recipe submission form is set up to accept pictures of handwritten recipes (or photos of any paper copy). If you want, take a clear picture of the paper copy and upload that. No extra typing needed; purely optional.
The GasBox was set up this way to make it simple. While it's helpful to type things out, we also want to get things up here without a ton of work.
Use the GasBox however you want. The goal is to capture our recipes, not demand perfection.
For simple tips or tricks, for now, yes, just use the recipe submission form, and only fill in what seems relevant.
Christian considered making a second "quick tips" entry form, but it just got too convoluted. However, if it looks like we want to make a compendium of those kinds of notes, Christian will build one on later.
For now, for your quick tips and notes, just use a recipe submission, and only fill out whatever you need.
Almost all the entry spaces on the Add Recipe submission form are optional. Type as much or as little as you want. If you feel like keeping it sparse, no problem.

Yup. This site is just us; Matyi's and Whitakers.
It was Christian's "homemade" Christmas gift tot he family for Christmas 2020, and persists for our use to this day.
Everyone in the world can see it, if they happen to stumble upon the site. (Which is pretty unlikely.)
That is why some sections are private, for the family's eyes only. This way we can show off some of our stuff, but still keep our secret recipes secret!
First off, pride. We have something cool. While few people outside of our family may ever see our GasBox, when they do we can feel proud to have this teeny-tiny family "virtual monument."
The second reason it's not all private is because Christian thought it might inspire other families. It's kind of a cool idea, so why not let our little GasBox project inspired others?
Nope.
If you aren't in our family, you can't use our GasBox. After all, would you walk into someone else's house and add your personal recipes to their collection? That would be downright rude!
Christian Matyi is the one to talk to.
Keep in mind, it is not a cheap purchase. Often simplicity is deceptive, and behind a seemingly simple interface lies a lot of time and cost. Christian manages these costs on behalf of his family because he can fit it into his normal workflow with his company Scorpio Creative. However, to build a new GasBox site apart from his own family's might be more cost than people imagine.
This is where Christian Matyi gets his plug.
Christian runs a boutique brand creative company named Scorpio Creative. he does all sorts of branding, design, and marketing projects. Incidentally, every inch of this whole site was custom designed, created, written, built, and published by Christian (he's kind of a jack-of-all-trades level Creative Director), so if you have a project in mind, get in touch with him and maybe he can get you set up.
